Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has shared a 'welcome home' message to his on-screen son as he teases the young actor's return to the cobbles. The actor, who plays Sean Tully in the ITV soap, posed alongside Liam McCheyne who is set to return as Dylan Wilson.
The character was last seen in 2020 as he tried to bond with his dad by staying with him in Weatherfield. It marked a decade since Dylan, whose Sean's son with his friend Violet Wilson, was last seen on screen, despite having been regularly mentioned. But the father-and-son relationship hasn't been seen since Dylan left to return to London with his mum.
While his comeback has now been confirmed, Antony teased the news with us earlier this year. He told the Manchester Evening News: "I have great year ahead - Sean is going to finally get his son Dylan back home for a great run of storylines that will map out the next 12 months. There also may be some love on the horizon too…"

Taking to social media over the weekend, the soap star posed with Liam with their arms around each other at the Salford-based set in the Grimshaw house, which is occupied by Eileen, son Todd, lodger Mary, and now Eileen's boyfriend George.
"Finally got a pic with @liammccheyne on the Grimshaws set, Number 11 Coronation Street, my home from home for the last 18 or so years," Antony wrote alongside the sweet snap. "I've known him and his brother @connormccheyne since they were babies. Liam is back playing Dylan. Welcome home, son."
Liam, who had already teased his return at the start of the month after sharing a photo of his scripts online, also shared the same photo on his own account and revealed his desire to stay longer on the cobbles this time. "As Dylan returns to Coronation Street I'm absolutely buzzing to be on this amazing adventure that im hoping to last," he wrote.
"With some of the most amazing cast and crew I couldn't ask for much more. Sneak peek BTS of Sean and Dylans growing relationship @antonycotton. Loving it so far".
And George actor Tony Maudsley was also getting involved as he wrote on Twitter last week: "Hey @LiamMcCheyne! What a great first day at @itvcorrie today. Loved doing our scenes together. Here’s to many more." The former Benidorm star went on to joke: "Hope you weren’t too sick after your SIX bacon butties in Roy’s Rolls. You’ve got some catching up to do though. I once ate 18 sausages in a scene in Benidorm!"
Liam quickly replied to the soap star, replying: “Thanks so much @TonyMaudsley1 had an amazing day!” He also tagged in other Corrie stars, including Antony, Gareth Pierce [Todd], Sue Cleaver [Eileen] and Millie Gibson [Kelly Neelan] in his post, adding: "Lovely working with you today, see you all soon."
Announcing his own return last month, Liam said on social media: "BIG NEWS!!!! Can’t wait and super excited to get back to work @itvcorrie on May 17th. Hopefully many memories to come. Have a good weekend everyone, see you soon [thumbs up emojis]."
