ITV Coronation Street viewers realise where they have seen Daisy's mum before as famous niece sends message

Coronation Street viewers were quick to realise where they have seen Daisy Midgley's mum before as she surprised her daughter in Weatherfield. Monday's trip to the cobbles saw the barmaid come face-to-face with her mother, Christina, after she arrived at the Rovers unannounced.

Not much is known about Daisy's background, other than that Rovers Return landlady Jenny Connor was once her stepmother before her dad's death. But Christina looks set to bring Daisy's past to the surface as their reunion got off to a frosty start.

Prior to Christina's arrival, Jenny presented Daisy another bouquet delivery with her name on it and she was left further unnerved when her phone rang with an unknown number. But later Daisy thought she had solved the mystery when Justin, who she had previously met in the doctor's waiting room before Christmas, was revealed to be behind the multiple flower deliveries.

But when he denied being behind her recent phone call, Daisy then decided to ring the number and was shocked when her estranged mum walked in through the doors of the pub with her phone ringing. It later transpired that she had learned of Daisy's engagement to Daniel Osbourne after he did the wrong thing by trying to surprise her with some old school friends.

And it was clear Jenny wasn't pleased to see Christina, just as much as Daisy didn't appreciate her sudden arrival. While there is still more to come from Christina, it didn't take long to realise where they had seen the actress who was playing her before.

Amy Robbins recently played Defence Barrister Milligan on Emmerdale in 2022 during serial killer Meena Jutla's court case and she also appeared in BBC One rival EastEnders as Caren in 2019. Others, however, were mentioning the role she is best known for, Dr. Jill Weatherill in former ITV medical drama The Royal.

Lynne Gassor wrote on Facebook: "Well Daisy's mum is Jill from The Royal." Venetia Harrison-Bailey asked: "Is Daisy's mum the doctor from The Royal?" which was then confirmed by multiple viewers. @TanyaAn35180018 tweeted: "Is Daisy’s mum a Robbins: Didn’t she play a lawyer recently? #Corrie." @SARamsay1 commented: "I recognise Amy Robbins playing Daisy's mum in #Corrie - she's been in a number of things. I wonder if Daisy knows her mum had a crush on Karen Taylor in EastEnders?"

Amy has also played Philip Ryan in the BBC school drama from 2009 to 2011. He also played Vinnie Dupe, the geek without chic, in STV's comedy Being Victor, and William, in BBC1's Last Tango in Halifax. However, they may also get her confused with her famous sister, Kate Robins, who recently appeared in Netflix's After Life and BBC's EastEnders and is the mother of comedian and Inbetweeners and Celebrity Juice star Emily Atack.

And it's fair to say it's an acting family as Amy and Kate's brother Ted Robbins has had roles in Ackley Bridge, The A Word, Mount Pleasant, Bad Education and ITV's Coronation Street. Following her Corrie debut, Emily was quick to share a message. Taking to her Instagram Story on Monday night the 33-year-old posted a video of her aunt on the famous cobbles and penned: "My amazing aunty Amy arrives on the cobbles!!!! @amylouiserobbins_."
