Coronation Street's Colson Smith is renowned for his role as Craig Tinker on the long-running ITV show. He first appeared on the show when he was 11 and quickly became one of the Cobbles' most beloved characters.
The 24-year-old's character was at the centre of the action in another dramatic week as Craig bid farewell to his childhood sweetheart, Faye Windass, reports the Liverpool Echo. The departing character is played by Ellie Leach, who has quit the cast to pursue new opportunities.
Colson and Ellie grew up together on the show and he told Lorraine Kelly this week that it is mad to think he won't be working alongside his friend anymore. On Thursday's edition of Lorraine, he said: "We worked together as kids, we went to tutoring, so went to school together. Now I've gone through her leaving and supported her through that.

He added: "I'm very supportive of Ellie and she’s going to go and do amazing things. I can’t wait to watch her do it."
However, Colson shared an update of his show future as he revealed he is happier than ever working on Corrie. He said: "I love it. There's something so special about that street, calling it work, going there every day and the people that you're with.
"You do regularly pinch yourself and say 'I work for Coronation Street'. I work with these amazing people and I'm just so happy to be there."
Colson is close with his co-stars and hosts a film podcast alongside his colleagues, Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price. The Sofa Cinema Club has been a hit with fans and performed a live show at the Lowry Theatre earlier this month.
Colson has also appeared in ITV show, The Games, where he showed off his amazing weight loss after shedding 10 stone. The actor has previously told the ECHO about the moment he decided to completely overhaul his lifestyle.
He said: "I made changes before the lockdown but when it hit, all work stopped and it's the first time ever that Corrie has actually stopped. I was in a flat in Media City and I went back to live with my parents. It was the first time since I was 12 that I didn't have a job and didn't have anything to do so I kind of thought to myself 'what's important to me' and 'what do I want from life'.
"That's kind of where I decided to put myself forward and start this fitness journey." Colson fell in love with running and he is now planning on going to Sweden next month to complete the Stockholm marathon.
Colson told Lorraine the unexpected reason about why he set his sights on the Swedish capital to take on the ultimate running challenge. He said: "I wanted to run a marathon and I saw Stockholm and thought what a better reason than to go to the ABBA museum."
Colson regularly shares updates on Instagram of his running journey and received strong support from fans when he announced his plans to run a marathon.
Katie said: "Go on cols. So proud of you." Annie added: "Superstar."
Kim commented : "You are incredible. Such an inspiration." Carly posted: "Wow that will be a fabulous achievement good luck"
