ITV Coronation Street fans point out same issue with Craig Tinker's crutch plans

Coronation Street fans have quickly pointed out an issue with Craig Tinker and his plans for his crutch.

The Weatherfield police officer is going stir crazy in the flat as he's unable to work after picking up an ankle injury while on a run with new flatmate Tyrone Dobbs.

His boredom has so far seen him baking multiple loves of bread but it has also spurred his obsession with a wooden crutch.

But what he is completely unaware of is that there is a crime waiting to be discovered right under his nose.

As fans of the ITV soap know, the crutch belonged to elderly gentleman Ted, who was knocked over by Craig's girlfriend Faye Windass as she drove herself and Emma Tinker home following a New Year's Eve party.

While he got back up, seemingly unharmed by the knock from the learner driver, tragedy later struck when the girls went back to Ted's flat and found him dead in his armchair.

Panicked, the pair decided to keep what had happened a secret, tried to clean the flat to erase any evidence of them being there and left acting as if nothing had happened.

That was, until, the guilt got to Emma and she anonymously phoned the police, claiming she was concerned about a neighbour she hadn't seen lately.

And before Craig was forced into time off, he was helping to investigate the suspicious circumstances around Ted's death.

He now has part of a piece of evidence that links Emma and Faye to Ted - and that's his crutch which was given to Craig by Faye's dad Tim Metcalfe after he found it in the boot of his taxi.

Emma claims to have picked it up at a charity shop as the New Year's Eve party was fancy dress.

But what she didn't bank on was Craig becoming invested in finding out who the owner is.

Faye has been trying to get her partner to stop obsessing over the object but a bet with Tyrone has spurred him further into tracking down the owner.

In Wednesday night's Corrie, Craig revealed when he headed to meet Faye in the Rovers: "I've sent it to the lab for finger printing. I told one of the analysts about my bet with Tyrone and he thought it was funny so he offered to get it analysed."

When a worried Faye asked if that was even allowed, he admitted: "Well, no... but he's a mate, so he offered... I can't wait to see Tyrone's face when I tell him what I find out."

But fans of the soap were quickly flocking to social media to put out a major issue.

@soph_rainbow1 tweeted: "Craigs been rubbing his hands all over that dead old man’s crutch and he expects the lab to find the owners prints.. ffs #Corrie."

"Craig, all the forensics are in and it’s covered in your finger prints… #Corrie," @Jazzypap commented.

@SarahFallows82 said: "Fingerprints? From a wooden crutch? Doubt it. Seems the lab analyst is as good at their job as Craig #Corrie."

And viewers were also distracted by his new habit.

"Our Craig is a supercop, professional bread baker and a crutches expert! Is there anything that our Craig can't do/doesn't know? #Corrie #CoronationStreet," @Clawmaw said.

@andrewmcb tweeted: "I know soaps like to stretch the boundaries BUT I refuse to believe that Craig is baking bread for half the street #Corrie."

"I'd love some of Craig's home made bread #corrie," @Elizabeth241072 shared.

@suzicarrigan added: "Is Craig & his bread going to become a bigger storyline? He’s been halfway across Manchester trying to find where a crutch came from, but still had time to bake all the residents a loaf #Corrie."
