Itsu is opening a new restaurant in Cribbs Causeway next week and the Asian-inspired food brand is giving away a free meal to the first 500 visitors. Recent Itsu openings across the UK have seen similar first day lunch giveaways go viral with people queueing for hours.
Itsu's menu includes hot noodle and rice bowls, fresh sushi and salads as well as its signature steamed gyoza and bao buns. The majority of dishes are under 500 ‘good’ calories and cost less than £7.50.
At the new store in The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, customers can expect to see Itsu classics as well as a new range of vegan stir-fry style noodles and jumbo sushi prawns. Alongside kombucha and green tea, there will be refill water flasks sold at a discounted price, with a percentage of sales going to the Blue Marine Foundation.

Dishes will be made throughout the day and Itsu’s new ‘senseis’ (the brand’s equivalent of Apple Geniuses) will be waiting front of house to greet customers and answer any questions. State-of-the art digital ordering screens have been designed for fast service, customisation of hot dishes and instant access to nutritional and allergen information.
Customers can dine-in on bespoke elmwood tables, surrounded by fresh orchids. All dishes are available for takeaway and delivery.
Students and NHS workers are welcome to 15% off their bill anytime. In Itsu’s commitment to eliminating food waste, there will be a half-price sale of sushi and salads 30 minutes before closing.

The new opening will create 20 new jobs. Last year Itsu led the hospitality industry in a 11% pay increase to new and existing team members meaning a minimum of £10.40 an hour.
“Customers have been asking us to come to Cribbs Causeway since we first arrived in Bristol in 2016 – their wish is our command,” says Neil Miller, Itsu’s chief customer officer. “We’re confident our new look Itsu is worth the wait and will be the perfect nutritious pit stop for hungry shoppers.”
The store opens at 11am on Friday, July 29. Itsu favourites will be free from noon for the first 500 visitors the day before, on Thursday, July 28.
