‘It’s an insult to your community:’ Halo Campaign Evolved drops to mixed reviews amid accusations of AI voice ‘acting’

Microsoft’s attempt to revitalize one of its best games through a remake isn’t going over so well, as the game now has mixed Steam reviews. Most of the complaints stem from the fact that the remake seems to have only taken care of the graphics, whereas other aspects of the game were left in a very rough shape.

“If you look at the game from a PURELY graphical standpoint, it’s gorgeous,” said one negative review. “Unfortunately, this game feels rushed, incomplete, and just leaves so much to be desired. Good graphics can only take you so far. MCC exists for a reason, and I’m grateful to be able to boot those classics up any time I want.”

The review specifically criticizes the voice acting, which its author says is “despicable,” a label that they claim applies across the board. But at least the English voicework isn’t made by AI, as opposed to the French one.
