In Genoa, the Port of Pra is experiencing delays as long-haul trucks are lined up for nearly 20 kilometers due to a malfunction in the automated gate system caused by the tech outage.
Meanwhile, in Florence, both Trenitalia and Italo train networks have been suspended after their systems went offline. Passengers on these trains have been enduring extreme heat and delays of up to 140 minutes, with some even calling emergency services to be let off the trains. Rural rail lines have also been impacted, with trains being stopped due to the extreme heat.
