James Van Der Beek calls for March to be first month of the year

James Van Der Beek is planning to make new year's resolutions this spring, because he doesn't believe January should be the first month of the year.

The 48-year-old actor - who has stage 3 colorectal cancer - insists it "makes absolutely no sense" to celebrate a new year "in the dead of winter" when animals are hibernating, and he believes March should be the first month of the year instead.
