A wounded Palestinian is carried to an ambulance after an Israeli strike in Deir Al-Balah, southern Gaza Strip, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023

An Israeli strike on a residential block in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, has resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of people, as reported by Gaza Civil Defense on Saturday evening local time. The Israel Defense Forces are currently investigating these reports.

Gaza Civil Defense stated that the ongoing Israeli targeting and aggression in northern Gaza has severely hindered their ability to carry out rescue and emergency services effectively.

United Nations' human rights chief, Volker Turk, has expressed grave concern over the situation in the north of the Gaza Strip, referring to it as the war's 'darkest moment.' Turk highlighted that Israel's actions are subjecting the entire population to bombing, siege, and the risk of starvation in northern Gaza.

Reports indicate that Israel has imposed a siege on Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, detaining male medical staff and confining women in one room without access to water or food. Tragically, the hospital's director revealed that his son was killed at the medical center due to Israeli shelling.

It has been 21 days since Israel intensified its military operation in northern Gaza, citing efforts to prevent Hamas from regrouping in the region.
