Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently spoken out about the current state of affairs in his country, highlighting the challenges faced by Israel in defending itself on multiple fronts. In a video statement, Netanyahu mentioned that Israel is currently engaged in battles on seven different fronts against various threats.
Netanyahu identified these fronts as including Iranian-backed Hezbollah in the north, Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen, 'terrorists' in the West Bank, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria. He also emphasized the ongoing conflict with Iran, which he accused of launching over 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in a recent attack.
Regarding the situation in Lebanon, Netanyahu stated that Israel has been actively working to change the balance of power in the region. He noted that Israel has conducted nearly 9,000 attacks into Lebanon, while Hezbollah has launched 1,500 attacks in return.
Netanyahu reiterated Israel's right to defend itself, particularly in Gaza, where he mentioned the commitment to bringing home hostages and ensuring the safety of its citizens. He expressed disappointment in countries like France, led by President Emmanuel Macron, who have called for arms embargoes against Israel.
Netanyahu vowed that Israel would continue to fight until victory is achieved, emphasizing the importance of peace and security not only for Israel but for the world at large. The toll of the conflicts was also highlighted, with over 1,400 people reported killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon and thousands more injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
