The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the call-up of two reserve brigades in response to the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon. This decision was made based on the IDF's assessment of the situation, with the aim of enhancing operational capabilities in the northern sector.

The primary objective of recruiting these reserve brigades is to sustain the ongoing fight against Hezbollah, ensure the safety of Israeli citizens, and facilitate the safe return of residents in the north to their homes. Last week, the IDF relocated the elite 98th division from Gaza to northern Israel as part of its strategic realignment.

Major General Uri Gordin, the commander of the IDF's Northern Command, emphasized the shift to a new phase in the operation in Lebanon, highlighting the need for heightened readiness and preparedness for potential maneuvers and actions. During his visit to troops of the 7th Brigade in northern Israel, he stressed the importance of being fully equipped for any operational requirements.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also acknowledged the possibility of ground maneuvers, indicating that the military must be ready to act swiftly upon receiving orders. He underscored the significance of making necessary preparations to ensure a rapid and effective response to evolving developments on the ground.
