Israeli forces have reportedly killed two Palestinian gunmen who shot dead a British-Israeli mother and her two daughters last month.
Lucy Dee, 48, died three days after her daughters, Rina, 15, and Maia, 20, were shot and killed in the occupied West Bank on April 7.
Israel’s domestic security service said on Thursday the two Palestinian gunmen behind the attack were killed in an early morning raid in the West Bank city of Nablus.
Forces entered the heart of the city and stormed an apartment where the wanted men were located, according to a statement from the military. A fierce gun battle is said to have ensued.
A third militant who had aided the two gunmen was also killed in the raid, according to Israeli authorities.
The military identified the three men as Hassan Katnani, Moaz Masri and Ibrahim Hura. The Palestinian Health Ministry said three people were killed but did not immediately identify them.
Israeli-Palestinian violence has surged this year, with frequent military raids amid a spate of Palestinian attacks.
Maia and Rina Dee died when their car was shot at and forced off the road in the Jordan Valley. Their mother, Lucy died in hospital from her wounds a few days later.
Mrs Dee’s husband, Rabbi Leo Dee, told the Times of Israel that his daughters were killed by 20 bullets from a Kalashnikov rifle and his wife was shot twice.
Their surviving family made the decision to donate Mrs Dee’s organs, which led to five people receiving life-saving surgery.
Her surviving daughter has since met with a 51-year-old woman who received Mrs Dee’s heart, at the hospital where the life-saving transplant happened three weeks ago.
Moving footage showed the moment she listened to her mother’s heart beating.
