Israel has launched extensive strikes in southern Lebanon after uncovering plans for a Hezbollah rocket attack on its territory. The Israel Defense Forces spokesperson revealed that dozens of Israeli fighter jets are targeting the launchers intended for the attack. According to Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, approximately 400 Hezbollah launchers have been struck in the operation.
Hagari emphasized that the strikes are being conducted methodically to dismantle Hezbollah's launching capabilities and eliminate key commanders and terrorists. The IDF's recent operation in southern Beirut's Dahiyeh neighborhood resulted in the killing of senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil and 15 other commanders who were allegedly planning terror attacks and infiltrations into Israeli territory.
Highlighting the preemptive nature of the operation, Hagari stated that Israeli forces were able to locate the group's meeting place and carry out a precise and powerful strike before any attacks could be launched. The IDF's actions are aimed at disrupting Hezbollah's ability to threaten Israeli security and prevent future attacks on its territory.
