Is this Ireland's cheapest pub? Barely believable Guinness price has customers beaming

An Irish pub that went viral for their pints under €4 have said that they don't ever plan on changing.

Helen's bar in Killmackogue, Co Kerry sells Guinness, Smithwick's and Murphy's for just €3.90 and is a bustling stop-off along the Wild Atlantic Way.

A receipt on social media has gone viral showing the affordability of the pub amid rising costs right around Ireland.

And the pub is proud of their prices and are happy that customers can leave knowing they've gotten a good deal.

Helen Moriarty, owner of the Kerry boozer, told the Irish Sun: "They have to travel to get here and the last thing they need is to find they have to pay high prices and leave feeling they have been ripped off.

“We are proud of the quality of both our food and our pints.”

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, a satisfied customer said he enjoyed food of "the highest quality" and received a "real Irish welcome" during his visit.

He said: "Food of the highest quality at prices that are hard to beat, and a real Irish welcome. It's a long time since I paid less than €4 for a pint of Guinness too!

"Thanks to Helen and all at Helen's Bar in Kilmackilllogue, Co. Kerry for the experience! We'll definitely be back."

A picture of the bill showed the man paid for six pints of Guinness (€3.90 each), two pints of Bulmers (€4.60 each), two cans of soft drinks (€1.50 each), a coffee (€2), four desserts (€4 each), six Cod mains (€10 each), four mussel dishes (€8.50 each) and two soups (€4.50 each).

The bill came to a total of €156.60. An unheard-of price for a meal out in the current climate.

Almost 7,000 people have since liked the Tweet, with many vowing to make the journey to Kerry to experience the value for themselves.

One person said: "Its nice to see good prices and such glowing reviews as yours. We're doing a staycation this year, out of necessity- however, I suspect that we may go out of our way to pay a visit to Helen's Bar. Thanks for sharing this with us."
