Realty Income Corp. (NYSE:O) is a San Diego-based retail real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns and operates over 11,400 commercial properties worldwide with long-term net lease contracts. 

With a net lease, the tenant is responsible for the majority of operating costs, including taxes, insurance and maintenance. This considerably reduces the risks to the landlord.
