Shutting down a PC every night is perfectly reasonable, but it is not a magic health routine for your computer. Modern Windows PCs and Macs handle sleep, shutdown, hibernation, and restart differently, and each option does something useful.
That matters because plenty of people treat the power button like a bedtime alarm. Click it every night, sleep peacefully, wake up refreshed. Except the computer does not necessarily need that ritual. Sometimes sleep makes more sense. Sometimes a restart does more good than a shutdown. And sometimes a full shutdown is exactly what the machine needs.
