Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will contend for a national title with his fellow Huskies against Michigan on Monday night.
How will his future look after the big title game?
While Penix has not formally declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, he will no longer have eligibility at the NCAA level and is widely assumed to join this year’s class of draftable quarterbacks.
He returned to Washington for 2023 to play out his sixth and final year of NCAA eligibility, making Monday night’s College Football Playoff national championship game his last for the college level.
Penix could go in the first or second round of this spring’s NFL Draft, with our Christian D’Andrea sending him to the Pittsburgh Steelers in his most recent mock draft.
While we’re not sure where Penix will be suiting up this fall, we do know that he will be headed to the NFL with his college football days officially coming to a close.
