Emmerdale aired a major twist on the ITV soap on Thursday, as it was confirmed Caleb Miligan was the secret son of former character Frank Tate.
Caleb's true reasons for returning to the village were exposed, months on from his debut and his claims of wanting to reconnect with his long-lost family, the Dingles.
But a twist on Thursday sparked more questions than answers, as fans found out that Faith Dingle's son was the secret child of former Home Farm owner Frank - the dead husband of current owner Kim Tate.
Long-watching viewers of the show will know that Frank was a major character on the show in the 80s and 90s, before he was killed off in 1997.
Faith didn't actually debut on the soap until around 2004, while her backstory with the Dingles was revealed to fans.
So when it emerged on Thursday that Caleb was Frank's son, fans began to question if he had lied about who his mother was.
Viewers couldn't work out how Frank and Faith could possibly have met let alone had a child together, leading them to ask who his real mother was.
But Emmerdale and Caleb actor Will Ash have confirmed the identity of is mother, while there is more to be revealed about what happened.
Will confirmed that Faith was Caleb's mum, and that everything viewers know about his childhood is true.
So when Caleb and Cain met as teenagers all those years ago, he really did come looking for Faith and his family only to be turned away.
Faith is definitely Caleb's biological mother as far as we are aware, and she gave him up for adoption after it was claimed she had him while in prison.
What we didn't know until now is that Faith and Frank shared a past, and she got pregnant with his son, Caleb.
It's not known if Faith and Frank dated or if it was a one-night stand, but it appeared to happen in the 70s before the characters even existed or arrived in the village.
The exact timeline has yet to be confirmed, with it also not known how Caleb found out who his dad was.
But it seems Caleb searched for him after being turned down by Cain and the Dingles.
Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out what exactly happened between Faith and Frank, but it appears to be confirmed that Faith definitely is Caleb's mother.
Faith cheated on her partner Shadrach and gave the baby away, knowing he wasn't the father but nothing else is known for the time being.
