Pharmacies across the country have agreed to participate in a scheme that will allow victims of domestic violence to seek confidential support on their premises.
The initiative, devised by the Irish Pharmacy Union, will enable around 900 pharmacies nationwide to provide support for both domestic violence victims and concerned family members.
Kathy Maher, a pharmacist in Duleek Co. Meath, said that the move will offer a safe space to those affected by domestic violence and coercive control.
