Irish Paralympian claims he was refused entry to Dublin restaurant with guide dog

An Irish paralympian has claimed that he was refused entry to a Dublin restaurant over the weekend because he had a guide dog.

Martin Gordon originally from Sligo is blind and works as a barrister, and he previously represented Ireland in tandem para-cycling in the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021. At the weekend, Mr Gordon went out for a bite to eat at a restaurant in Dublin with his family and guide dog Juno.

Speaking to RTE's Morning Ireland today, Mr Gordon said he was told by the restaurant's manager that there was a 'no dogs' policy in place and that he could not be served inside the restaurant. He said: "It was a typical Saturday afternoon and we decided to pop down to a restaurant in Dublin we had been to previously for lunch.
