Two Irish Lotto players were just one number short of winning Wednesday night’s jackpot worth a life-changing €2,309,823.
The pair will have to console themselves with a prize of €18,022 each after correctly picking five of the six winning numbers, plus the bonus.
Lotto bosses have also revealed 21 other players will each take home €1,029 after matching five numbers.

The winning numbers for the main draw were 2, 10, 16, 17, 29, 47 and bonus 7.
However, it was a very lucky night for a Lotto Plus 1 player who won the top prize of €1 million.
Ireland’s newest millionaire won after matching the winning numbers: 8, 11, 26, 27, 38, 45 and bonus 43.
Meanwhile there was no winner of the Lotto Plus 2 draw. The winning numbers were 2, 9, 11, 35, 36, 44 and bonus 12.
The Raffle Prize daw saw 60 winners, each receiving €500.
