One Irish job applicant took extra steps to stand out from the crowd recently when applying for a role in Co Donegal.
The prospective employee made sure their CV was memorable when reaching out to Sliabh Liag Distillers for a job.
Instead of sending the traditional email cover letter with an attached resume, the applicant instead sent their CV to the company's email address - by post.
An Post is being praised after one dedicated local postman successfully delivered the letter to its destination even though the envelope only featured the email address for the distillers.
Deirdre Byrne, Marketing Manager at Sliabh Liag Distillers, described the approach taken by the job applicant as "novel" to say the least.
"It was delivered last week, our local postman arrived, on the envelope, it says 'try Carrick F94' which is our Eircode area, so I'd say someone in Athlone Post Centre had to check out where we were based," she told the Irish Mirror.
"So yeah, it was a really novel way to get noticed I suppose!
"It's hard to beat the postmen and postwomen here in Donegal especially where directions can sometimes be a bit funny and we don't have house numbers.
"But [the post] always seems to get here."
Ms Byrne explained that the envelope contained nothing else but the CV, which she described as "really good".
However, the innovative applicant was unsuccessful this time around in security the role, although the resume has been kept on file for the future.
"We'll never forget that one," she added.
Locals in Donegal have also been sharing their hilarious reactions to the job application.
One person said: "'Send your CV to us at info@SliabhLiagDistillers.com' and they did!!!"
A second commented: "Novel way to get noticed, And a whole new service stream idea for An Post."
A third wrote: "Give them a job. Please."
While someone else said: "The question here is: Do you reply by e-mail or mail? And did he/she leave his post address or e-mail address?"
