The Irish Coast Guard leapt into action after one person suffered a suspected broken leg injury following a fall in Dun Laoghaire yesterday.
On Sunday, the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard team was tasked to assist National Ambulance Service (NAS) National Paramedics with a casualty who fell on the seaward side of the East Pier, sustaining a suspected broken leg. A spokesman said: "Paramedics provided initial treatment while the Coast Guard team packaged casualty into our stretcher and carried them to ambulance for onward transportation to hospital.
"Remember if you see anyone in difficulty in or near the water, dial 112/999 or VHF channel 16 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard." It comes as today is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures set to rise as high as 32C according to Met Eireann forecasters.

A Status Yellow High Temperature warning is in place for the whole country, which is valid until midnight tonight. Meanwhile, Water Safety Ireland has urged people to swim at beaches where there is a lifeguard on duty.
It warned people to swim within their depth and stay within their depth and only swim between the red and yellow flags at a lifeguarded waterway. The charity said people should never use inflatable toys in open water as a gentle breeze can quickly bring a person away from shore.
