NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has expressed his concerns and raised questions about the sudden inclusion of off-break spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the Indian ODI series against Australia, which is set to begin on September 22, just ahead of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
Ashwin, who hasn't been part of the Indian ODI squad for an extended period, played his last ODI match in January 2022 against South Africa. Pathan believes that there seems to be a lack of planning in Ashwin's inclusion and suggests that he should have been given more opportunities to acclimatize to the format.
