Ireland AM's Joe Shannon gave viewers an update about his health on television yesterday morning.
The TV chef was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer last month. He has since undergone chemotherapy in an effort to treat his symptoms.
He reassured Ireland AM viewers that his treatment was going well live on television. Joe told presenters Tommy Bowe and Alan Hughes he has met with his oncologist and will undergo more chemotherapy on Monday after a short break from treatment.
He previously said of his condition: "I could have one year left, or I could have seven. It really depends on how my body takes to chemo because it's a big ask of my body to continue with that."

The brave chef also shared last month he wasn't afraid of death despite his challenging diagnosis. The 58-year-old said he has had a "fantastic" life and that he was owed nothing.
Joe was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2021. The chef has been touched by the public's support following his diagnosis and recently began a presenting slot on Sligo's Ocean FM.
