Ireland AM baker to close cake business as rising costs make it 'too difficult'

A popular cake business in Dublin has announced that it this Christmas season will be its last amid rising costs.

In a social media post today, Take the Cake owner Krissy Gibson revealed that will not be reopening in January following its final holiday season. Take the Cake was founded in February 2017 by Krissy and her husband Kevin, and Virgin Media viewers might be familiar with Krissy form her numerous appearances on Ireland AM.

Citing rising costs among the reasons for the decision to close, Krissy said that it has become "too difficult to keep this small business going". She wrote: "This will be Take the Cake's last holiday season in business. TTC will be open until Christmas, then will not be re-opening in January."
