MUMBAI: Ruled out from IPL 2023 after suffering from a horrific accident in late December last year, India's star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is cheering his IPL team Delhi Capitals from home, while watching the matches on TV.
On Saturday night, Pant shared an Instagram post which had a screen grab of DC's first match of the season, against Lucknow Super Giants, at Lucknow, captioned: "Let's go Delhi @Delhicapitals." he was watching the match on TV on Star Sports.
Meanwhile, DC found a beautiful way to keep Pant in spirit with the side during their opening match, putting his jersey on top of their dugout. Pant has already said that he will try to come for the home matches of the franchise.
"Always in our dugout. Always in our team," the Capitals wrote as they shared a picture of the jersey on their official Twitter account.
DC, meanwhile, lost their first match by 50 runs to LSG.
Pant could miss a huge amount of cricketing action this year including the World Test Championship final in June in the UK and the ODI World Cup, scheduled for October-November in India.
