NEW DELHI: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, Thomas Bach, emphasized on Monday that the Paris Olympics will be an extraordinary spectacle, taking place amidst a period of unprecedented worldwide upheavals and increasing divisive forces.
His statement comes just four days before the opening ceremony of the Games. The French capital's Olympics will introduce several novel elements, such as an opening ceremony conducted on barges along the Seine river, breaking away from the customary tradition of holding it in an Olympic stadium.
