Inter Milan are ready to make an improved third offer for Romelu Lukaku, with the striker keen to resolve his future this week.
Lukaku is due back in training at Chelsea within the next 48 hours but he hopes talks over a move to Inter have advanced significantly before his return.
The 30-year-old Belgium international is willing to give up almost £1million-a-year to ensure his move back to Italy goes through, just two years after Chelsea paid £97.5million to sign him from Inter.

Chelsea have so far turned down two offers from Inter for Lukaku, the most recent being a loan offer with an obligation to buy him for £21m next summer.
The Blues are demanding close to £40m and Inter are preparing an increased bid.
Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are also interested in Lukaku but he has his heart set on a return to Inter.
Al-Hilal’s willingness to pay both Chelsea’s asking price and offer Lukaku a significant pay rise on his £325,000-a-week wages is likely be in vain.
