Many Instagram users have been left complaining about the social media platform as thousands have said they are experiences problems accessing it. Up to 82 per cent of Instagram users reported issues with the photosharing app on Downdetector, a website that records outages.
Reports began coming in at around 12pm saying the social media site was having issues, with complaints peaking at 6pm. Around 7,000 people in the US are also reportedly experiencing problem as well, with the issue still ongoing.
Instagram has yet to confirm whether the app is down, nor does there appear to be any acknowledgment Facebook or the apps parent company Meta so far. The outage doesn’t appear to be linked to any specific area, and other services are still working.

As well as not being able to access the app, many other users have reported problems with their Instagram feed not loading properly or failing to load after only pulling up a small handful of posts. People have also said they keep seeing screens that say they're not logged in or blank image posts.
Elsewhere, other social media outlets have been awash with posts from users airing their complaints and asking if others are facing similar issues, with the hashtag 'Instagramdown' trending on Twitter. @camford23 asked: "Anyone else’s Instagram only show like 7 posts at a time then doesn’t let you scroll down any further?"
@HighonOptimism also asked: "Is there an issue with the @instagram feed? Why is it not loading new things? #instagramdown #Instagram #bugsfix."
@fahrudeen_sg tweeted: "How long do you want me to stay in the darkness?!! please fix!! #instagramdown."
@Quotes4Dogs posted: "Instagram making me look at the same posts over and over again today #instagramdown #glitch," while @eastendersmulti added: "Sick of instagram my feed is just stuck on 4 posts from 3 accounts stg insta is down every week x #instagramdown."
