Inside this week's London Standard

This week’s London Standard cover - (Evening Standard)

This week The London Standard brings our readers a special London Fashion Week edition, where we celebrate the incredible £37 billion-a-year industry and the stars and talent lighting up our capital over the next few days.

It might be a gloomy time economically, but that is always when London fashion has thrived. We are a city famed for our creativity, subversive punk spirit and wit and nowhere is this more on display than our catwalks. And there’s no doubt our young creatives can spin gold from a shoestring — keep an eye out for the MA graduates at Central Saint Martins who will show their designs this week, as well as the brightest new names on the London Fashion Week schedule: Jawara Alleyne, Paolo Carzana and Tolu Coker. Other highlights include flagship names Simone Rocha, Burberry, Emilia Wickstead, Roksanda and Erdem (turn to page eight to read our brilliant interview with him).

Last season we saw everyone from Harry Styles to Barry Keoghan on the front row — and we can expect more of the same as our public figures rally behind an industry that is so valuable to London. If you aren’t on the guestlists, fear not — turn to page 26 of the paper to see all the fabulous things everyone can do to be involved. I hope you enjoy your issue.

The London Standard is available for free pick-up across the city from Thursday to Monday or you can read the digital edition online.
