Inside Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's 'open door' custody agreement amid divorce

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been in the process of getting divorced for some time, with the exes declared "legally single" in their latest court hearing.

The reality TV star, 41, and the rapper, 44, got married in 2014 with their divorce filed last year.

Despite the latest development, the finer points of their separation are still to be decided - including the custody arranagement of their four children.

Kim and Kanye are doting parents to North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.

It was reported last year that both parties were seeking joint physical and legal custody of the children, with a report this week further speculating on the upcoming arrangements.

According to TMZ, it's expected that there will be an "open-door policy" when it comes to custody of the children, with Kanye - now known legally as Ye - given access as he wishes.

The outlet reports that it's "highly likely" that the four kids will be based at home with Kim, but Kanye will be able to see them "pretty much whenever he chooses."

It cites that sources have said that the typical arrangement - spelling out when one party gets the kids - is impractical, given Kanye's schedule, involving international travel.

Such sources said that custody issues haven't been much of a problem, with them stating that whenever Kanye is in Los Angeles and wants to see his kids, his ex has facilitated it.

This is said to have included the Grammy Award winner wanting to take one of his four children to a basketball game recently, with TMZ reporting that Kim "gladly obliged."

The outlet stated: "In other words, there's an open-door policy when it comes to custody." It added that Kanye typically gets the kids every Sunday for his religious service.

It was suggested that thing will get "super messy" if custody arrangements become too specific, though TMZ speculates there may be structure for holidays like Christmas.

The Mirror approached reps of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for comment.
