She's only been on Emmerdale for 7 years, but Rosie Bentham has quickly established her character Gabby as one of the village's most popular women - but her life off screen has been tinged with tragedy.
Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham has been on the ITV hit soap as Gabby Thomas since 2016 and Gabby has been involved in a number of major storylines since taking over from actress Annelise Manojilovic.
Rosie's on-screen character Gabby was recently given the cold shoulder by her son's nanny Nicky, after flirting up a storm with the young hunk. But things then took a U-turn, with the pair embarking on a secret affair.

Outside of Emmerdale, Rosie is the youngest of four children, alongside her sister and two brothers, and has said that her hero is her mum Marianne.
Tragic loss
Rosie talks openly about the death of her father John, who died in 2019 of a pulmonary embolism (blood clot), one week before her 18th birthday.
Last year, Rosie told The Mirror that his death was a huge shock, saying: "I just couldn’t believe it because he hadn’t been ill beforehand.
“I got angry because I couldn’t understand why and how it had happened," said Rosie. "I can remember saying ‘No, no, no’.”
She hopes that by sharing her own experiences of grief, that it will help other people going through the same thing, saying: "I don’t mind if people ask me about memories of my dad because I’ve got so many lovely ones."
Rosie’s friendship with co-star Daisy Campbell
Gabby may not be close to Amelia Spencer on Emmerdale but away from the ITV soap the pair are very good friends.
Rosie and Daisy Campbell regularly update their social media followers on their friendship. They recently jetted off to Paris together.
They both shared photo of the two of them posing by the Eiffel Tower, an obligatory dinner and wine photo, and a photo of an adorable dog.
Rosie’s Line Of Duty link
Rosie has previously spoken about the excitement of her parents when she was offered the part of Gabby in Emmerdale as a teenager at the age of 14.
Not only did she star as Gabby while completing her GCSEs and A-Levels, she also attended Nottingham's Television Workshop Drama Group, where alumni includes Line of Duty's Vicki McClure and fellow Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter, Daily star reports.
Rosie Bentham’s love life
Rosie recently opened up about her love life away from the ITV soap and it appears as thought the star is currently single.
Speaking in a new candid interview, the actress, 21, shared her biggest "red flags", revealing she can instantly tell whether someone is more interested in her or her character.
Rosie told Mirror: "The biggest red flag is when someone says to me, 'So, tell me what’s going to happen next'.

"It’s obvious at that point they’re not interested in me, they’re just trying to get spoilers out of me.
"It’s nice if someone says, 'Oh, my gran watches it' – but I don’t think many 21-year-old boys are genuinely interested in watching soaps."
The actress, who first joined Emmerdale aged 15, also recalled her first on-screen kiss on the ITV soap.
Rosie said: "It was nerve-wracking. Not only was I young, but I had my parents sat behind a screen watching everything. We had to do the kiss quite a few times as well, which was awkward. I was so embarrassed."
