Inside creepy funeral home standing abandoned for a decade over 'demonic forces'

This creepy funeral home has stood abandoned for over a decade after it's claimed demonic forces compelled its owner to flee, never to return.

Outside the property, which has since been seized by US tax authorities, hearses can be found, one containing a pink coffin precariously balanced as it emerges from the back of the vehicle.

Upon stepping inside the haunted building, located near Atlanta, Georgia, coffins and decorative flower arrangements can be found and garments once donned by morticians.

In the embalming room, we see a table where dead bodies would once lie, creepy mannequin heads stand atop a shelf as a cupboard above them, and doors flung open to reveal a whole host of toiletries and cleaning products.

An office perhaps belonging to the woman who fled is in a state of disrepair, with a fan hanging from the decaying ceiling, debris covering the floor, and dust coating the ageing sofa, though the dark, wooden desk remains intact.

Ben James, who owns account @Places_forgotten, is the urban explorer who was brave enough to set foot in this spooky location, which is 50 miles from Atlanta, US.

According to Ben, the owner was driven to the depths of despair as she became convinced that a demon was residing in the building.

Becoming increasingly erratic in her behaviour, she one day decided to vacate the premises for good.

"The owner apparently left one day stating that there were demonic forces there," he said.

“She would come out onto the drive and say to the neighbours that a demon was inside.

“She became more and more erratic and left one day never to come back.

"It’s since been seized by the IRS but it’s just been left, I think because it’s too rural they can’t do much with it.

“When I got there, I realised it's quite a creepy place and when I got inside, night came very quickly and then a big thunderstorm with lightning.

“It was like something out of the Autopsy of Jane Doe which is a horror film on Netflix because the lightning was flashing on the embalming table.

“The place feels very creepy and sinister, the fact that it’s just been completely left like that, it hasn’t really been ransacked or looted."

As he was exiting the property, like the owner, Ben realised he wasn’t alone as he made a shocking discovery.

“There was somebody I met on the way out who was actually a squatter who said that he had been sleeping in one of the cars,” he said.

“He said he won’t sleep inside, he’d rather sleep in the car than sleep inside the place because there’s just something not right with it.”
