Injury update on Browns RB Nick Chubb offers optimism

Suddenly, it’s not all doom-and-gloom surrounding the injury that Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb suffered Monday night versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Chubb’s prognosis is more optimistic than initially speculated. “Sources say he suffered a torn MCL, and while there is damage to the ACL, it’s not a given it’ll need to be fully repaired. He plans on a full recovery.”

Chubb’s to undergo surgery to repair the torn MCL, and although there’s damage to his ACL, it wasn’t fully torn. However, per Rapoport, if there’s enough damage discovered during surgery, a complete repair would be necessary.

Sources tell Rapoport that the Pro Bowler didn’t dislocate his kneecap and the other ligaments appear intact.

Far better news than initially feared. It appears Chubb will fully recover, which is good for all of football.
