Injured Titans’ chain gang member suffered broken leg

Late in the first quarter of the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday, a member of the Titans’ chain gang was injured. Will Levis scrambled with the ball and ran seven yards for a Titans first down before he was pushed out of bounds. As his body was flung to the sidelines, he took out Brian Robb.

Watching Robb’s reaction after Levis flattened him, you could tell it wasn’t good. He clutched his leg and was in visible agony. Turns out he had a broken leg that required surgery, which Robb underwent on Tuesday according to Paul Kuharsky.

Luckily, Robb is expected to make a full recovery, although it’s unlikely he returns to his position as part of the chain gang this season.

Being on the sidelines of a football game is a dangerous place, and those who are part of the chain gang already know the perils of their position. But they love what they do, they want to be close to the action, and most of the time, the people on the sidelines are able to move before they get run over.

This isn’t the first time someone has been injured on the sidelines of a football game, and it probably won’t be the last. But the good news is that, in this case, the injury (while gruesome) is treatable.

Pay attention on the sidelines, people. The players aren’t looking for you when they’re in the middle of a game!
