Newcastle halfback Adam Clune has been named to play against Parramatta, while winger Hymel Hunt could be set to make his first appearance for the season after being included in an extended squad on Tuesday.
Clune would be a significant inclusion for Sunday's game against the Eels at McDonald Jones Stadium after he was a late withdrawal from the side that lost 21-16 to St George Illawarra in Wollongong at the weekend.
The halfback failed to overcome a knee injury he sustained in the loss to the Sea Eagles a week earlier.
Hunt, who hasn't played since suffering a knee injury in the Knights' pre-season trial against the Bulldogs in late February, had been set to return via NSW Cup but did not feature in the reserve-grade fixture on Saturday.
The club's new recruit Anthony Milford is expected to arrive in Newcastle on Wednesday, but is not available to play until round 11.
The loss to the Dragons on Sunday was the Knights' fourth consecutive defeat and has left them in 11th position after six rounds.
The club has never made the finals after starting the season with a two-and-four record and faces a tough few weeks ahead against the Eels and Storm at home, before a trip to Townsville to play the Cowboys.
