IndiGo Ventures, the venture capital arm of IndiGo, will invest in Indian artificial intelligence company Sarvam as part of its Series B funding round, the airline said on Friday. The financial details of the investment were not disclosed.
The investment will build on the existing partnership between IndiGo and Sarvam, which has been focused on using artificial intelligence to improve customer experience, support employees and simplify complex operational processes across the airline.
The companies plan to continue developing and assessing AI applications in areas including customer experience, employee productivity and airline operations. Successful applications could later be expanded across IndiGo's network.
The investment is aimed at creating a long-term platform for AI-driven innovation and improving operational efficiency at IndiGo.
Sarvam describes itself as a full-stack sovereign AI company based in India. Through the Series B investment, IndiGo Ventures will deepen its engagement with the company as both sides explore further enterprise applications of AI.

IndiGo Chief Digital and Information Officer Neetan Chopra said the partnership with Sarvam gives the airline access to advanced AI capabilities developed in India and designed for the needs of the local market.
"IndiGo brings the domain depth and scale needed to identify where AI can create real value. Together, we can develop systems that are useful in production and build a stronger template for enterprise AI in India," Sarvam Co-Founder Pratyush Kumar said.
