The Indianapolis Colts were back on the practice field Friday–their final practice before they head to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.
On the practice field for the third day in a row was quarterback Anthony Richardson, who on the injury report, is listed with an oblique injury.
Richardson sustained the injury this past Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, taking a hit to the hip area as he was scrambling.
During the first two practices, Richardson was limited, and it sounds like that might be the case today as well. According to The Athletic’s James Boyd, it was Joe Flacco who was taking the team reps on Friday while Richardson watched.
Looks like #Colts QB Joe Flacco is taking most, if not all, of the first-team reps today. Anthony Richardson is standing behind Flacco right now and just watching him throw during a red zone/end zone drill.

The Colts will release their final injury report on Friday afternoon, at which point we will officially see in what capacity Richardson practiced in and if he will have an injury designation.
Although Richardson hasn’t practice in a full capacity this week, head coach Shane Steichen said earlier in the week that doing so wasn’t necessary for Richardson to play. Ultimately it will come down to whether or not he’s cleared to play and how he’s feeling.
This week the Colts’ offense will face a Jaguars defense that is allowing a hefty 27.3 points per game. That unit has held it’s own against the run, giving up just 3.9 yards per carry, but has surrendered 7.7 yards per pass, which ranks 30th this season.
