India, on the other hand, would be wary of Japan, the only team the hosts have yet to defeat. The league meeting between the two teams resulted in a 1-1 tie.
The two sides are ranked far apart on the globe, with India in fourth place and Japan in 19th.
India has scored the most goals (20) in this tournament, but they squandered numerous opportunities against Japan in their league encounter.
Japan advanced to the semifinals over Pakistan due to a greater goal difference, despite the two teams collecting five points each. Japan had a minus-two goal difference, whereas Pakistan had a negative five.
