NEW DELHI: The Indian team management and selectors are anxious after Test captain Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday afternoon through a rapid antigen test. While the BCCI was waiting to know the result of the RTPCR test, the selectors were in a fix over the decision to send a cover for the only Test which starts in Birmingham on July 1.
The Indian team is now in danger of losing both their first-choice Test openers with KL Rahul already being ruled out with a groin injury. The selectors didn't send a replacement for Rahul as Shubman Gill is the designated reserve opener for the Test.
