India's ace doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lose No. 1 ranking, drop to third

Ace Indian doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who withdrew from their title defence at the Indonesia Open last week, slipped two spots to third in the latest Badminton World Federation rankings on Tuesday.

China's Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang have ascended to the top of the men's doubles rankings, followed by Denmark's Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who moved up two places.

After winning the Thailand Open in May and reclaiming the No. 1 ranking, the Chirag-Satwik pair experienced a dip in form, leading to a first-round exit at the Singapore Open last month. They have also withdrawn from the ongoing Australian Open.

In men's singles, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen retained their top-15 positions, staying at 10th and 14th, respectively. Kidambi Srikanth fell four places to 32nd, while Priyanshu Rajawat (34th) and Kiran George (35th, up one place) were the next highest-ranked Indians.

Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu remained steady at 10th in the women's singles rankings.

In women's doubles, the Paris Olympics-bound pair Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa improved one place to 19th, while Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also climbed one notch to 24th. The Commonwealth Games bronze-medalist pair made a last-16 exit from the Indonesia Open.
