Indhu Rubasingham: International Women’s Day is a time to refocus on opportunities

Indhu Rubasingham made history when she became the first woman and the first person of colour to lead the National Theatre.

Rubasingham speaks about the importance of International Women’s Day as she appears on The Independent’s Influence List.

She said: “It actually makes us focus and just relook at something that maybe we haven’t been looking at and looking at the opportunities for women, where women are positioned around the world, what’s going on for 50 per cent of human society.

“It’s a moment to allow us to reflect, focus, and examine.”
