Just under a month ago, I wrote an article titled: A goat versus Gaza: Leica's award shortlist highlights one of the biggest challenges in photography contests.
The point of my piece is that when it comes to merit, it's difficult to separate an image from a warzone against an image of a goat, especially when the former provokes such strong emotional reactions.
