An "incandescent" Prince Harry had a "violent outburst" during a three-day party with Meghan Markle that appeared to puzzle some of his long-time friends.
The Duke of Sussex allegedly saw red mist after spotting a photographer while celebrating the wedding of a close friend, a new book claims.
The couple attended the wedding of Harry's Etonian friend Tom "Skippy" Inskip at the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica in March 2017, according to investigative journalist Tom Bower's forthcoming 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors'.
Harry attended the wedding bash with his then-girlfriend Meghan, their relationship having only been made public a few months before.
This therefore marked one of the very first, if not the first, important events they attended as a couple, even if was a private affair.
Mr Bower wrote: "Since this was the first important event Meghan and Harry had appeared at together, there was certain to be media interest.
"Secluded in the resort’s most isolated villa, Harry spotted a photographer in the bushes. He became incandescent."
In the extract from the book, which is being serialised by The Times, the author also claimed: "Harry’s friends were puzzled by his violent outburst considering the frequency of similar previous incidents in his life."
Mr Bower added the "suspicion" the guests close to Prince Harry had started to harbour towards Meghan "increased" after this incident.
The author, who also released a biography of Prince Charles in 2018, also told how the gathering was much-anticipated by many of the royal's friends and their family as it was their chance to properly be introduced to the woman Harry had fallen in love with.
However, it's claimed she "quibbled" about the food and even refused to engage with some of Harry's friends.
Harry and Meghan were introduced in the summer of 2016 while the now Duchess was visiting London.
The Mirror has contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's representatives for comment.
