Ryan Tubridy and Kellie Harington were among a host of stars having their funny bones tickled on the first night of the Paddy Power Comedy Festival.
Over 90 artists will perform 36 shows in four fully seated venues in the Iveagh Gardens until Sunday. Olympic hero Harrington and Late Late Show host Tubridy were joined by a number of other well known faces in the Paddy Power Green Room, including Ruby Walsh, Niall Quinn, Dave Fanning, Norah Casey and Joe Duffy.
The festival kicked off with a bang with Tommy Tiernan leaving festival goers roaring the aisles on 'The Bleedin' Massive Stage'. The Navan funnyman was ably supported by Chris Kent, Sindhu Vee and MC Fiona Frawley. ‘The Craic Den’ saw Deirdre O’Kane entertain a packed out crowd, with support from Catherine Bohart, Helen Bauer and MC Karl Spain.

The 9.30pm show on the same stage saw a hilarious set from Jason Byrne on ‘The Bleedin’ Massive Stage’, while Tony Cantwell appeared in ‘The Craic Den’, Enya Martin took to the stage at ‘The Only Joke Inn’ and The Comedy Crunch performed in a packed out ‘The Free Gaff’, which sponsor Paddy Power set up to some of the talented comedy clubs across the city.
On each day of the festival, local comedy clubs will be hosted as part of the programme on this stage, and for every ticket sold for The Free Gaff featuring a ‘Comedy Club’, Paddy Power will match its price in funding for that comedy club.
There are still some tickets left for the remaining shows. Check availability here
