NEW DELHI: Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, who recently made a comeback into the India squad after a long injury layoff, has been given the responsibility to captain the team in the first two games of the upcoming three-match series against Australia, starting on Friday. This series holds great significance as it serves as a final dress rehearsal for India ahead of the ODI World Cup.
Rahul, in his captaincy career so far, has led the Indian ODI side in seven games, winning four and losing three of them. However, this will be his first ODI as captain at home in India, as his previous assignments as skipper were all in away matches.
