Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has praised Holland teammate and Manchester United-liked Frenkie de Jong as reports claim he could be set for a reunion with Erik ten Hag.
The Dutch midfielder currently plies his trade with Barcelona but despite their financial problems, Xavi's side continues to look in the transfer market to bolster their squad. De Jong has been one of the names linked with a move away from the Nou Camp in a bid to leverage a move for one of their summer targets.
Van Dijk could go head-to-head with his Holland compatriot should he complete his move to Manchester United as Ten Hag looks to strengthen the middle of the pitch for the Red Devils after the position was fiercely exploited during their dismal campaign, last season.
