In Maharashtra, hundreds of Covid widows still await ex gratia

PUNE: Vijaya Shirke of Shegaon taluka in Buldhana district had applied for the Covid ex gratia of Rs 50,000 five months ago. But she hasn't received a single update on the status of her application.

"The Supreme Court had said a claim with valid documents cannot be rejected. But I have been waiting. The officials have not even given us a hearing," she told TOI.
