In Maharashtra, active Covid cases drop by 60,000 in 1 week

PUNE: Active Covid cases in Maharashtra dropped from 1.06 lakh to 45,905 in the past week, from Feb 7 to Feb 13 — a reduction of over 60,000 patients in just seven days. A similar decline in Covid cases in the state had taken eight weeks in 2021 .

Active cases in Maharashtra have now touched the September 2021 levels seen during the second wave. But the drop this week has been much faster than last year. In mid-July 2021, Maharashtra had an active caseload of approximately 1.04 lakh patients, which took nearly two months to plunge to 47,919 by September 18, 2021.
